BIKE SADDLE BAGS

Saddle bags provide an easy way to transport essential items during a ride. Nicely tucked behind the seat, a saddle bag stays out of your way but is always there when you need it. Here at JensonUSA, we have a wide selection of bike saddle bags for you to choose from.

Saddle bags come in many shapes and sizes. A large saddle bag can hold many items, but obviously takes up more space and is heavier. In most situations, the length of your ride determines how many items you bring with you. A small saddle bag is nice for quick evenings rides where a snack, multitool, and patch kit are all you really need. If you dabble in bike packing and adventure riding, many companies make saddle bags with large internal volumes to carry food, supplies, or whatever you want.

Items that typically reside in a saddle bag include a spare tube, tire levers, a patch kit, and a multitool. If you get a flat tire while out on a ride, these tools will get you fixed up and back on the road. Saddle bags are also a good place to store nutrition snacks, energy gels, and personal items such as your keys and wallet. If you don’t have a small pump attached to your bike, it is a good idea to bring one in your saddle bag or throw in some CO2 canisters and an inflator head. You can’t fix a flat if you have no way to inflate the tube.

Most saddle bags are attached to the seat rails and seat post with Velcro straps. Some companies have created other attachment methods on their bags that make them easier to take on and off. It is much easier to access the contents of your saddle bag if you can easily detach it from the bike and have it in front of you.
