When it comes to picking an electric bike, it can be very challenging as there’s a lot to think about. In this next section, we will tell you a few things to look out for.
Motor: A Motor from a well-known brand may be more expensive, but they are much better.
Battery: If you want to go further, get a bike with a larger battery.
Frame: Carbon is lighter and stiffer than aluminum but does cost a lot more.
Gearing: Having more gears does help but always check the range on the rear cassette.
Brakes: Don’t settle for anything apart from hydraulic disc brakes for mountain biking.
Wheels: 27.5” is typically better at acceleration and control, and 29” is better for max speed rolling over obstacles.
Going with a well-known brand is always a good idea. Some of our favorite brands are Orbea, Niner, Rocky Mountain, and Norco.
Yes, they have to be heavier due to the motor and the battery, but the power you get makes up for it. The best electric mount bike isn’t always the lightest.
It’s like riding a normal bike. Electric bikes assist you more than anything. It’s not like a twist and go moped. You still have to pedal as these are the best pedal assist mountain bikes.
They are perfect for beginners because they are easy to ride. They give you a good amount of assistance and help you keep up with more experienced riders.
