A new generation of Deore XT calls for new 11-speed compatible shifters. The SL-M8000 Shifter is beautifully engineered, rock-solid and easy to use. With Shimano's multi-release design, not only can you cover the full range of an 11-speed cassette in only a few throws of the lever, but the new triggers offer 20% lower shift effort, accurate indexing, new ergonomics with longer levers and an optimized slant design. The shifters have textured levers, providing anti-slip operation for consistent shifting. These I-Spec II compatible levers mount directly to a compatible brake lever clamp, cleaning up your cockpit setup and decreasing weight, while offering highly-adjustable fit. Take your riding to the next level with Shimano XT M8000!

*Note: This shifter does not attach directly to handlebar, shifter only attaches directly to Shimano brake with I-SPEC II technology.

Crisp and Clean
This shifter is an awesome shifter. While I have always loved how Shimano's upper tier shifters feel, this one is real crisp and quick when it comes to up/down shifting. You can change a multitude of gears at once in either direction.

The i-Spec is a little confusing if you have an older brake set. This i-Spec does not work, without physical modification, with i-Spec A/B brake levers so make sure you can use it, or have a way of doing so.

PROS: Durable, Easy To Install, Attractive Design

11 speed is fine.
Great shifter. Would buy again, in fact I have! 11 cogs are more than enough, 12 is overkill, and 13? Gimme a break.

Does what it's supposed to. Love the double down shift. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the xtr is considerably smoother and it gets 5 stars.

Shouldn’t be this stoked about a shifter
Favorite feature is to be able to upshift two gears in one stroke. So cool on 11 speed where you often need to grab more than one gear after finishing a climb. Shifting is very crisp and light. I want Shimano xt on everything I own- but this shifter will play nicely with lower end Shimano deore and slx stuff too!

Snappy and durable shifter, features are worth the upgrade
I didn't believe there'd be a huge difference between this and my SLX, but after breaking my SLX in a crash and hearing good things about this one I went ahead and The double up-shift is super handy in quick changes from climbs to downhills, as is the instant action. The whole thing just feels noticeably snappy and feels very durable.

Shimano doing what Shimano does best.
This is one well-built lever. Had to get it to match to my XT M8020 brakes and keep my handlebar clamps to a minimum. I'm actually more into SRAM drivetrains (still riding a gripshift on one of my bikes!), but I bought a bike recently with XT drivetrain and must say that the thumb two-gear-at-a-time shift-drop is the best sh*t ever. Why SRAM hasn't thought of this for their trigger shifters is beyond me. Shimano doing what Shimano does best in this one.

Will this work with the shimano xt br-m8100 brake?

Yes. I just installed a pair of those levers and used the version of this shifter with the I-Spec II mount. In other words, I used the same shifter assembly you are asking about.

I have a XT 1-spec-B M780 10 speed shifter. Will the mounting bracket off this shifter fit on this one?

Unfortunately, the ispec 2 will not connect to the ispec b. If you search the brand problem solvers, they should have an adapter. We do not have any in stock at the moment You can give us a call at 951-234-7554 if you have any more questions
